Prof. Dr. Laura Venz is Full Professor of Work and Organizational Psychology at Leuphana University of Lüneburg and leads the Institute for Management & Organization (IMO). Her research addresses occupational health, recovery from work stress, knowledge hiding, digital transformation and precarious employment in the gig economy.
Her key research interests include:
- Daily processes of recovery and well-being
- Interpersonal knowledge hiding and incivility
- Digital work intensification and remote/hybrid work
- Age-diversity and age-friendly work design
- Precarious employment and gig-economy dynamics
Across her publications, Venz employs intensive longitudinal designs (daily diary, experience sampling) to uncover how momentary workplace experiences accumulate to shape employee health, performance and social relationships. A dominant theme is the tension between work demands and employees’ capacity for psychological detachment and recovery, with recent studies highlighting the role of self-control strategies, leader support and age-related resources.
