Anna Torres-Delgado

Dr. Anna Torres-Delgado is a Lecturer and researcher in the Department of Tourism and Transport at the University of Surrey, focusing on sustainable tourism indicators and destination management. She holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Barcelona (2012) and has advised Barcelona City Council since 2016 on sustainable tourism policies.

Her research interests include sustainable tourism development, evidence-based policy design, and the application of tourism indicators for destination planning. Key achievements include developing the ISOST index for municipal-level sustainability assessments and co-designing sustainability-oriented innovations with Barcelona stakeholders.

Her recent work emphasizes integrating carbon footprint analysis into tourism market targeting and evaluating how destination management organizations utilize sustainability data. Awards include the 2015 Environment Award from the Government of Catalonia and the 2012/13 Extraordinary Doctoral Prize.
