Anna-Teresa Engl

Anna-Teresa Engl serves as a Scientific Associate at the TUM School of Education within the Life Sciences Didactics department, specializing in Health and Nursing Sciences. Working under Professorship led by Prof. Dr. Claudia Nerdel, she is based at Marsstraße 20-22 in Munich and maintains office hours on Mondays from 13:00-16:00.

Her educational background includes a Master of Education (2014-2017) and Bachelor of Education (2010-2014) from Technical University of Munich, both focused on Vocational training in health and nursing science. Her Master's thesis examined "Extracurricular Learning Locations in the STEM Sector," while her Bachelor's research investigated "The Augmentation Index as a Marker for Cardiovascular Risk" through comparative study of congenital heart disease patients.

Engl's research centers on digital transformation in healthcare education, with particular emphasis on simulation-based learning environments. Her work explores how virtual patient cases from the INMEDEA simulator impact professional knowledge development among vocational students in cardiovascular and emergency care domains. Using the TPACK framework, she investigates technological pedagogical content knowledge acquisition through method triangulation with mixed-methods research design.

Her doctoral project compares interactive patient case learning versus text-based approaches, analyzing how different learning environments influence students' professional knowledge components (TK, TPK, TCK, TPACK) through pre-posttest questionnaires, lesson plans, and structured interviews.
