Lisa Baumgartner

Lisa Baumgartner, Ph.D., is a researcher at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) within the TUM School of Medicine and Health, Department of Health and Sport Sciences. She works at the Chair of Preventive Pediatrics under Prof. Dr. Renate Oberhoffer-Fritz, contributing to research on cardiovascular health in children and adolescents.

Her research focuses on cardiovascular adaptations to physical activity in young athletes, examining how exercise influences cardiac structure and function. Dr. Baumgartner's work examines vascular parameters including carotid artery dimensions, intima-media thickness, and arterial elasticity in relation to physical activity levels in children and adolescents.

She is actively involved in several major research projects including the MuCAYA Study (Munich Cardiovascular Adaptation in Young Athletes Study), MuCAYAplus, and the LICO study investigating long-term cardiovascular impacts of COVID-19 in children and adolescents.

Dr. Baumgartner has published extensively in leading cardiovascular and pediatric journals, with recent work focusing on training intensity effects on left ventricular dimensions, cardiac structure in junior athletes, and vascular adaptations to exercise in youth populations.
