Anna Simon-Stickley is a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (MPIWG) and a doctoral fellow at the Graduate School Global Intellectual History, Freie Universität Berlin. Her research investigates the intersection of environmental history, science, and intellectual exchange in 19th-century Egypt, focusing on how sciences and humanities of deep time interacted through shared methodologies and expertise.

- Bachelor’s in Art History (focus on Anthropocene-related artistic research)
- Master’s at TU Berlin (study of material media in 19th-century life sciences)
Her scholarly work includes publications on the history of scientific instruments and the intellectual history of the Anthropocene. She has also contributed beyond academia as an editor for the Journal of the History of Knowledge and through translating a 850-page book on conceptual history.
