She has extensive experience in pharmaceutical industry (Cerenis Therapeutics, Pfizer, Esperion Therapeutics) and has translated multiple HDL therapies to Phase II clinical trials.
Research Interests:
- Rational design of HDL nanomedicines
- Phospholipid composition optimization
- Apolipoprotein A-I mimic peptides
- Therapeutic applications for Alzheimer’s, sepsis, lupus, and diabetic nephropathy
- Targeted delivery to SR-BI-expressing tumors
- Regulatory science for complex parenteral products
Scientific Awards:
- American Heart Association Fellow (2023)
- Controlled Release Society Fellow (2023)
- American Heart Association Scientist Development Grant (2013)
- Presidential Fellowship, The Ohio State University (2000)
- Biomedical Innovation Shark Tank Winner (2015)
Grants & Collaborations: Research supported by the American Heart Association and U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Collaborative projects include HDL utility in Alzheimer’s disease, sepsis, and glioblastoma treatment. She also develops science-based regulations for testing nanoparticles and recombinant proteins.
