Dr. Anna Schneider is an Assistant Professor in the HRM & Employment Relations Department at the University of Innsbruck. Her research focuses on employment relationships in service industries, particularly how front-line workers navigate conflicting demands from customers and employers. She investigates the role of labor market intermediaries and the interplay between organizational structures and workforce management. Her work employs theoretical frameworks such as Institutional Theory, Convention Theory, and Practice Theory, alongside Organizational Ethnography.
Her doctoral thesis examined service workers' handling of contradictory requirements through direct observation, challenging traditional normative approaches. Current research explores tensions in human resource management, identity formation, and the micro-level implications of macro-social structures.
Dr. Schneider is affiliated with the Förderkreis Innsbrucker Personaldialoge and contributes to the Praxis and Förderkreis HRM initiatives. She teaches courses on human resource management and employment relations. Her work is documented on her Google Scholar Profile.
