Anna Sagan

Anna Sagan is a Research Fellow at the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, splitting her time between the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). She serves as Editor in Chief of the Observatory's Policy Briefs series and has authored and edited key publications including Health Systems in Transition (HiT) reviews, State of Health in the EU Country Profiles, and the Health Systems Policy Monitor platform.

She holds a Master of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics. Her educational background provides foundational expertise in economic analysis applied to health systems.

Her research focuses on health systems policy with deep specialization in health systems monitoring frameworks. She excels in conducting HiT reviews and EU State of Health Profiles, with recent work analyzing coordinated care pathways in Poland's health system. Her multilingual capabilities (English, German, Polish) enable direct engagement with diverse European health data sources and stakeholders.

Anna maintains an honorary research fellowship at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Diseases while being centrally affiliated with LSE Health. Her work directly informs EU-level health policy through structured monitoring platforms and evidence-based policy briefs.
