Anna Reid is a Lecturer in the History of Art at the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies, University of Leeds. Her work bridges environmental humanities and art history, focusing on 19th-20th century British landscapes across local and global contexts.

Research explores the intersection of ecocriticism, colonialism, plant humanities, animal studies, extinction, and the politics of aesthetics. Current projects include a catalogue essay for Forbidden Territories: 100 Years of Surreal Landscapes and a chapter on surrealist ecocriticism in Lucy Skaer’s work. Her scholarship critically examines the relationship between ecological and colonial histories, as well as art-science dialogues.
She previously led the British Art and Natural Forces research program at the Paul Mellon Centre, Yale University, and contributed to the Art Hx digital humanities project at Princeton University.
