Anna Petherick is Associate Professor of Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, where she convenes courses on the politics of policymaking and policy challenges. She is a key figure in the Oxford COVID-19 Government Response Tracker and directs the Lemann Foundation Programme, focusing on public sector integrity and policy learning between Brazil and other Global South countries.
Her research interests include public policy, political integrity, anti-corruption, gender in politics, political polarisation, and post-pandemic recovery. These themes are explored through interdisciplinary and globally engaged scholarship, often combining qualitative fieldwork with large-scale data initiatives.
The trend in her recent publications reflects a strong focus on crisis governance, evidence-based policymaking, and institutional reform. Her work bridges academic research and real-world policy impact, particularly in health, education, and democratic resilience during and after the pandemic.
