Anna Messina

Anna Messina is a psychologist, psychotherapist, and Post-doc researcher at the Institute of Public Health of the Università della Svizzera italiana. She holds a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Università Cattolica in Milan (Italy) and certifications in cognitive-behavioral therapy from institutions in Como and Lugano. Her research focuses on improving support systems for family caregivers of people with dementia, emphasizing cultural adaptation of interventions and digital health solutions.

Key projects include:

• Doctoral work on culturally adapting the WHO’s caregiver training program for Ticino’s dementia caregivers
• Collaboration on the Liberi dalle Paure project (funded by SNSF), applying participatory methods to digital health interventions
• Global studies on cross-cultural adaptation of the iSupport program

Research interests span caregiver experiences, pandemic impacts on mental health, and community-level support strategies. Her work bridges clinical practice and public health policy.
