Anna-Maria Virkkala serves as a Grant-funded Researcher at the Department of Geosciences and Geography, University of Helsinki, with dual affiliations as Supervisor for the Doctoral Programme at the Helsinki Institute of Sustainability Science (HELSUS) and Visiting Scholar at the Institute for Atmospheric and Earth System Research (INAR).
