Anna Maria Hong is a full-time Associate Professor of English at Mount Holyoke College, with cross-disciplinary affiliations to the Creative Writing Advisory Board at Meridians: feminism, race, transnationalism journal. She holds an M.F.A. from the Michener Center for Writers at the University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. from Yale University.

Hong specializes in fiction writing, poetry, and hybrid-genre works, with a focus on contemporary literature by Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) and BIPOC authors. Her research explores feminist fabulist fiction, literary form, and the adaptation of trauma narratives into multimedia projects. She is currently collaborating with composer Allen Shawn and director Jean Randich on a theatrical adaptation of her novella H & G.
Her publications demonstrate expertise in sonnet innovation, Korean diasporic themes, and experimental poetics. Awards include the Poetry Society of America’s Norma Farber First Book Award, the Amy Clampitt Residency, and a Hawthornden Foundation fellowship.
