Anna M. Shields is Gordon Wu '58 Professor of Chinese Studies and Chair of East Asian Studies at Princeton University, specializing in Tang-Song literary traditions.
Education: AB Washington University, AM Harvard University, PhD Indiana University.
Research explores literary culture through multiple genres including poetry exchanges, letters, and anthologies. Current book project examines Tang literary transmission during Five Dynasties.
Recipient of Guggenheim Fellowship and multiple NEH grants supporting textual scholarship on medieval Chinese literature.
