Dr. Anna M Kelly is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University College Dublin (UCD) School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering and Co-Director of the Inclusive Design Research Centre of Ireland. She has been appointed to the Fáilte Ireland Authority and coordinates interdisciplinary research initiatives. Formerly Director of Access & Lifelong Learning at UCD for over a decade, she pioneered the University for All model, Ireland’s first institutional framework for inclusive education. With a career spanning four decades in education, she holds expertise in diversity, accessibility, and policy, transitioning from a Home Economics teacher to senior leadership roles.
She currently evaluates further/higher education for Quality & Qualifications Ireland, chairs the Irish Universities Association 1916 Bursary Appeals Panel, and serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Muiríosa Foundation. Dr. Kelly is also Innovative Practice Editor for the Widening Participation and Lifelong Learning Journal at The Open University, UK.
Her research focuses on inclusive learning environments, diversity policy, and accessibility in education. She has contributed to institutional culture change through initiatives that prioritize equity and access for students from diverse backgrounds.
