Dr. Cliona Kelly is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean at the University College Dublin School of Law. She serves as Chair of the Law Taught Programmes Board and has previously held academic positions at Cardiff University, National University of Ireland Galway, and Trinity College Dublin. Dr. Kelly earned her PhD from University College Dublin funded by the Irish Research Council for Humanities and Social Sciences, complemented by a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning from National University of Ireland Galway.
Her research focuses on contract law, consumer protection, patent law, and human rights. Key areas include European consumer law reform, intellectual property ethics, and academic advising methodologies. Dr. Kelly's 2021 monograph 'Contract Law in Ireland' contributes significantly to the peer-reviewed International Encyclopedia of Laws series. She has advised the Attorney General on transposing European consumer directives into Irish law through the Consumer Rights Bill 2022.
