Dr. Anna Lips is a Researcher at the Institute for Social and Organizational Pedagogy within the School of Educational & Social Sciences at the University of Hildesheim. She completed her doctorate in January 2025 with a dissertation titled "Well-being and needs of young people during and 'after' the coronavirus pandemic." Since March 2018, she has worked as a Research Assistant and doctoral candidate at the institute, and is currently a Research Associate on the "Care Leaver Statistics" project.
Dr. Lips earned her Master of Arts in Educational Science from the University of Hildesheim (2010-2012) and her Bachelor of Arts in Educational Science from Philipps University of Marburg (2007-2010). Prior to her academic career, she worked as an Advisor for refugee work and volunteer services for the DRK State Association of Lower Saxony eV from 2013 to 2018.
Dr. Lips' research focuses on youth and participation, particularly examining the impacts of the Corona pandemic on young people's well-being and development. Her work explores educational support systems, especially for care leavers, and investigates biographical and institutional transitions. She has a strong interest in empirical social research methodologies and the experiences of unaccompanied minor refugees in youth welfare contexts. Her research often addresses how young people navigate multiple crises and transitions in their lives.
