Anna Limpens is a Senior Lecturer and Academic Lead at the University of Portsmouth, Faculty of Creative & Cultural Industries, School of Film, Media and Creative Technologies. She serves as Associate Head (Students) and Course Leader for BSc (Hons) Computer Games Production. With 22 years of experience in higher education, she has held roles at the University of Edinburgh and established an eLearning consultancy before joining Portsmouth in 2011. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has received multiple institutional awards for teaching and industry collaboration.

Her research lies at the intersection of digital games and education, focusing on identity exploration through games, especially for neurodiverse groups like those with ASD. She investigates how games serve as psychosocial moratoria for identity tourism and how this can be leveraged in educational contexts.
