Prof. Anna Lene Seidler is Professor and Chair for Health Equity in Child Health at the University Medical Center Rostock, affiliated with the Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Neurology, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy and the German Center for Child and Adolescent Health (Rostock/Greifswald site). She maintains international affiliations as Honorary Affiliate at the University of Sydney and Honorary Principle Research Fellow at University College London, following prior roles as research group leader at Sydney's NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre and visiting scholar at Charité Berlin and UCL.
Her research pioneers large-scale international consortia developing innovative methodologies for heterogeneous global health datasets, with core emphasis on evidence-based prevention in child and adolescent health through health equity frameworks. Key focus areas integrate:
- Social gradient reduction in healthcare access
- Prospective meta-analysis of individual participant data
- Obesity prevention via EPOCH-Translate Centre for Research Excellence leadership
- Clinical trial methodology and research integrity standards
- Neurophysiological and sleep rhythm interventions

As research area leader for the Translating Early Prevention of Obesity in Childhood (EPOCH-Translate) Centre in Australia and lead coordinator for the Cochrane Prospective Meta-Analysis Methods Group, she directs interdisciplinary teams spanning epidemiology, biostatistics, and public health to transform data into equitable health interventions for diverse pediatric populations.
