Anna Lang Cass

Anna Lang Cass is an Associate Professor of Health Sciences at Furman University, specializing in epidemiology and medical education. She joined the faculty in 2016 after roles at Prisma Health and as charter faculty at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville (USCSOMG), where she taught epidemiology, biostatistics, and research methods to medical students. Her research focuses on healthcare-associated infections, patient experience, and educational interventions addressing health disparities.

Her Ph.D. research compared methods for identifying healthcare-associated infections at Prisma Health.

Teaching: She designs courses to inspire students to apply health knowledge to personal wellness (HSC 101), translate observations into research questions (HSC 201), and engage in community-driven public health solutions (HSC 075).
