Alan Cass is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the Department of Public Health at the Faculty of Medicine and Health, The University of Sydney. His work focuses on addressing health disparities and improving healthcare outcomes for Indigenous populations, particularly in the areas of chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, and health policy. He has contributed to numerous studies and clinical trials, emphasizing culturally safe care and innovative models of healthcare delivery.
Dr. Cass holds a BA, MBBS, Grad Dip Clinical Epidemiology, FRACP, and PhD, combining a strong medical foundation with expertise in clinical epidemiology and public health. His research interests span chronic kidney disease, Aboriginal health, clinical trials, health policy, and qualitative research, with thematic emphases on obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and healthy ageing.
His recent publications highlight a focus on economic evaluations of healthcare interventions, cultural adaptations of screening tools, and integrated care models for co-morbid conditions. He has also examined disparities in kidney transplantation outcomes, anemia management challenges in Indigenous patients, and barriers to healthcare access in remote regions.
