Ladan Golestaneh

Dr. Ladan Golestaneh is a Professor of Medicine in the Section of Nephrology at Yale School of Medicine, with expertise in clinical nephrology, population health research, and clinical trials. She holds leadership roles as Clinical Program Director at Yale New Haven Hospital and previously served as Medical Director of dialysis facilities at Montefiore Medical Center. Her research focuses on improving outcomes for patients with kidney failure, addressing disparities in dialysis access, and advancing implementation science in nephrology care.

Education: MD from New York Medical College, MS in Clinical Research Training Program from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, residency and internship at Montefiore Medical Center.

Research Interests: Dialysis outcomes, peer mentorship programs, health equity in kidney care, acute kidney injury, and the role of implementation science in translating evidence-based practices into clinical settings. She investigates interventions to reduce hospitalizations among hemodialysis patients and enhance adherence to treatment guidelines for diabetes and chronic kidney disease.

Recent work highlights include studies on peritoneal dialysis uptake among minority patients, geographic disparities in dialysis facility density, and the impact of sex hormones on acute kidney injury.
