Anna-Karin Stockenstrand is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics, Geography, Law and Tourism (EJT) at Mid Sweden University, specializing in business administration with a focus on accounting and finance. Her research explores the effects of regulation, particularly in pension systems and financial reporting, through frameworks like glocalisation, responsive regulation, and institutional logics.
Her research includes the Sustainable Pensions (2019-2022) project, which examines how social, financial, and environmental sustainability can coexist in pension systems. Key sub-questions address transparency in insurance contracts, fund management, regulatory impacts, and work structures for extended employment.
Her work spans interdisciplinary collaborations, including contributions to books like Financial Accounting (2023) and Bank Regulation (2017), and conference papers on gender dynamics and networked learning in education. Publications highlight tensions between uniformity and uniqueness in financial systems, banking strategies, and regulatory compliance.
Anna-Karin teaches accounting theory, auditing, and financial regulation. She is affiliated with the Centre for Research on Economic Relations (CER) and participates in projects analyzing Basel III standardization and financial governance.
