Anna Hultman is a Senior Lecturer in Comparative Literature at Lund University's Faculty of Humanities and Theology, affiliated with the Centre for Languages and Literature (SOL) and the Birgit Rausing Centre for Medical Humanities (BRCMH). Her work bridges literary studies and medical humanities with a focus on contemporary interdisciplinary research.
Her primary research areas include literature and sexuality, literature and medicine, care narratives, and literary peripheries. She employs case study methodologies to examine erotic literature across historical contexts, digital intimacy phenomena in audio fiction, and medical- literary language intersections. Her approach emphasizes narrative ethics, subjectivity, and interdisciplinary applications in medical education.
Hultman actively supervises doctoral students like Hanna Tillberg and collaborates on major projects including 'Storytelling - from cell to society' (2025-2025) and 'Lyssningsnjutningar: Sexuell hälsa och ljudfiktion i den digitala intimitetens tid' (2024-2028), securing significant research funding for digital intimacy and medical humanities initiatives.
