Anna Cromwell is an Assistant Professor of Violin and Viola at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, with prior faculty roles at Eastern Illinois University, Western Kentucky University, and Minnesota State University. She actively teaches, lectures, and performs, notably in Duo XXI with cellist Dr. Mira Frisch, and contributes as a reviewer for the American String Teacher.
- Education: DMA and M.M. from University of Minnesota, Summa Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University
Her research interests focus on violin pedagogy, Suzuki training, and string education, informed by her studies with Sally O’Reilly and Mark Bjork. She has published in NCASTA and Illinois ASTA journals and presented at national conferences including MTNA and ASTA.
Scientific Awards:
- Dahl Fellowship recipient
Dr. Cromwell has performed on CDs Quest: New Music for Violin and Cello and Metal Cicadas, and remains engaged in summer institutes and festivals like Bravo! Summer String and Tennessee Valley Music Festival.
