Dr. Slovarp's research centers on Baroque performance practice authenticity, integration of newly composed works into traditional repertoire, and pedagogical frameworks for cultural immersion through international musical tours. Her teaching methodology spans cello and bass instruction, chamber music coaching, music theory, history, and specialized string techniques, informed by studies with cellists Janos Starker and Tsuyosi Tsutsumi.
Her creative output from 2013-2017 demonstrates consistent focus on chamber music excellence across diverse contexts—from Emmy-winning television broadcasts to international tours in China and North Africa—highlighting cello repertoire development and cross-cultural dialogue through works by composers ranging from Shostakovich to contemporary innovators like John Luther Adams.
