Dr. Anna Cartwright is a Research Fellow in the Department of Psychology at King's College London's Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN). She holds a PhD in Mental Health Research for Health Professionals, funded by the Wellcome Trust. As a Clinical Psychologist and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, her work bridges clinical practice and research. Her research focuses on digital mental health interventions, particularly for populations with physical health conditions such as cancer survivors and burn injury patients. Key projects include the FRAME trial—a digital intervention to reduce fear of cancer recurrence—and studies on caregiver resilience in dementia. She also explores psychological flexibility in burn injury recovery and anorexia nervosa treatment outcomes. Her work emphasizes patient and public involvement in research design and implementation.
Dr. Cartwright has been awarded the Mary Somerville Prize (Oxford), Nick Bouras Prize (King’s), and Grey Matter Prize (King’s) for academic and research excellence. She contributes to teaching on the Psychiatric Research MSc and supervises students in Psychology and Health Psychology programs. She is a Co-Investigator on a Wellcome Trust-funded project (2023–2026) refining interpretation training interventions for cancer survivors.
