Anna Akselsson

Anna Akselsson is an Affiliated Researcher, MD, and Licensed Midwife at Sophiahemmet University, Department of Health Promotion Science. Her research focuses on fetal movement monitoring during pregnancy, specifically the Mindfetalness method, aiming to improve maternal awareness of fetal activity and reduce perinatal mortality. She teaches in the midwifery program and supervises clinical interns. She leads a large Stockholm-based study involving 40,000 women to evaluate Mindfetalness's effects. Anna received the Pedagogical Supervisor Award for her work with medical students in obstetrics and is a Board Member of the Stockholm Midwifery Society. Her research spans clinical protocols, patient compliance, and perinatal outcomes.
