Ann-Sophie Levidis is an Assistant Professor in Modern French History at the School of Literature, Languages & Linguistics at the Australian National University (ANU). She has taught at institutions including the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po), Harvard University, and the University of Hitotsubashi in Tokyo. Her research focuses on the History of International Relations, War Crimes, Decolonization, and French diplomatic history.
Her current projects include a monograph National Liberation in the Atomic Francophone Pacific and a complementary film documentary. She has received prestigious awards such as the Jean-Baptiste Duroselle Prize, Seal of Excellence from the European Commission, and the Sciences Po Teaching Prize.
Her research explores intersections between international law, decolonization, and post-war justice, with a focus on French imperial and diplomatic history. Recent work examines the role of jurists and diplomats in global legal frameworks during and after WWII, particularly in Asia and Europe.
