Ann Jamieson-Shaw

Ann Jamieson-Shaw is a Senior Lecturer in Physical Education at the School of Sport and Physical Activity, part of the College of Health, Wellbeing and Life Sciences at Sheffield Hallam University. She leads undergraduate programs in Physical Education and School Sport, and oversees the PGCE Physical Education with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) program. Recently, she directed an international British Council initiative to develop Physical Education teacher training programs for the Ministry of Education in Greater Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

Her research focuses on higher education's role in teacher preparation and the stigma surrounding trainee teachers facing challenges during school placements. She has authored a key 2008 curriculum support document for secondary school physical education.
