Dr. Ann Gillian Chu is an Assistant Professor at the Academy of Chinese, History, Religion and Philosophy at Hong Kong Baptist University and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Applied Ethics. She holds a visiting position as a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Leeds, collaborating on studies about religion among Chinese communities in Britain. Her research focuses on the sociology of religion, theological ethics, and practical theology, with a particular emphasis on the role of Christian organizations in supporting Hong Kong’s elderly population affected by migration.
Dr. Chu has a multidisciplinary background, including qualifications in English, theology, and accountancy. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and holds professional certifications in accountancy, including Fellowships from the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
