Ann Genovese is a Professor at the Melbourne Law School, University of Melbourne, specializing in public law, legal history, and jurisprudence. She is a leading scholar in Law and Humanities, focusing on Indigenous-non-Indigenous relations, archival ethics, and feminist jurisprudence. Her work established the field of jurisography, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to legal practice and history.
Her research explores how Australians have lived with law through archival sources, with significant contributions to understanding Indigenous legal histories and feminist legal methodologies. She has authored/co-authored influential books including *Rights and Redemption* (2008), *Sovereignty: Frontiers of Possibility* (2013), and *Feminist Jurisography* (2022).
Genovese has held numerous university roles, including membership in the Reconciliation and Recognition Committee and the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She received six ARC grants, collaborating on projects analyzing law’s intersections with history, culture, and society.
