Ann Forsyth is the Ruth and Frank Stanton Professor of Urban Planning at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design. Her research focuses on creating sustainable and healthy urban environments, with specializations in aging communities, suburban retrofitting, and equity-focused design.
She directs the Healthy Places Design Lab and co-leads the New Towns Initiative. Her award-winning book 'Creating Healthy Neighborhoods' provides evidence-based strategies integrating health considerations into planning practice. Current research examines technological interventions for aging populations at neighborhood scales.
Dr. Forsyth teaches courses on healthy city design and interdisciplinary approaches to urban development. She holds affiliations with Harvard's Joint Center for Housing Studies and Center for Population and Development Studies.
