Ann Curry-Stevens is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University. After earning her PhD in 2005, she transitioned from a 20-year practice career in Toronto to academia, initially joining York University for two years before moving to Portland, Oregon. There, she gained recognition as an engaged scholar through collaborations with community groups and initiatives like the Center to Advance Racial Equity (CARE), which she co-founded to support advocacy efforts via community-initiated research.
- Research Focus: Addressing systemic racial disparities, economic inequality, and social determinants of health.
- Projects: Led large-scale studies with the Coalition of Communities of Color, influencing policy reforms in education, funding, and community economic opportunities.

Her teaching emphasizes equity-centered pedagogy, while her current work explores partnerships with ethno-specific organizations in Canada to amplify marginalized communities’ visibility and influence.
