Dr. Ann Bingham is a Senior Teaching Fellow (Academic Practice) at the University of Southampton's Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP). Her roles include Programme Lead for PREP (the portfolio route to AdvanceHE fellowship), EDI champion, and leader of a MH Charter workstream. She develops Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes for academic staff and contributes to training materials for Personal Academic Tutoring. With a PhD in physical sciences (2002), her career spans teaching, leadership, mentoring, and academic development across multiple institutions.
Her research interests focus on inclusive teaching practices, international student experiences, and the cultural dimensions of academic advising. Awards include the Recognised Leader in Advising Award (RLA) and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). She teaches on the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) and mentors colleagues seeking professional recognition in advising roles.
