معرفی
Prof. Anke Hildebrandt holds a joint appointment as Professor for Terrestrial Ecohydrology at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) and Friedrich Schiller University Jena. Her research focuses on interactions between the terrestrial water cycle and vegetation, with expertise in ecohydrological modeling, soil moisture dynamics, and root water uptake mechanisms. She leads the Computational Hydrosystems Department at UFZ and the Institute of Geosciences at Jena.
Education: PhD in Hydrology from MIT (2005), Dipl. Ing. (Water Resources Management) from TU Dresden (2000), and advanced studies in Environmental Sciences (Université Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg). Research interests include ecohydrological feedbacks, canopy-water interactions, and scaling processes from plot to ecosystem scales.
Key contributions include advancing models of vegetation-soil-water interactions, quantifying drought impacts on ecosystems, and integrating observational data with hydrological simulations. Her work bridges field measurements, experimental setups, and computational tools like OpenGeoSys.
