Dr. Anjali Mulchandani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering at the University of New Mexico, part of the School of Engineering. She leads the Water and Environmental Resource Sustainability Group, focusing on innovative water treatment technologies, atmospheric water harvesting, and resource recovery. Her interdisciplinary research integrates environmental engineering, nanotechnology, and data analytics to address sustainability challenges. She holds a PhD and MS from Arizona State University (2020 and 2016) and a BS from UCLA (2014), with postdoctoral training at Stanford University (2020).
Her research interests include the Water-Energy Nexus, decentralized water systems, and community-driven engineering solutions. She emphasizes science communication and outreach, directing the UNM Grand Challenge Undergraduate Water Science Communication Fellowship. Awards include the ASEE Gerald R. Seeley Early Career Faculty Award and NSF Graduate Research Fellowship.
