Anita Liu is a Speech Faculty member at the Mount Royal University Conservatory since 2007, specializing in Speech Arts and Drama education. She is a native Calgarian with a strong background in early childhood development and play-based learning. Her roles include teaching creative drama, readers theatre, and choral speech classes for young children, particularly in the Conservatory’s Rhymes and Rhythms and Act Up Speak Out programs.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of British Columbia (1999) and a Bachelor of Education specializing in Elementary Education (2005). Previously, she taught French Language and early elementary education with the Calgary Board of Education. Currently, she operates two small businesses focused on early childhood development and education.
Anita maintains an active private studio and serves as a regular adjudicator at Presentation MRU, a non-competitive speech and drama festival. Her work emphasizes fostering creativity and communication skills in young learners through immersive and playful educational approaches.
