Anika Steinkuhl serves as a Researcher at the Institute Future Energy (iFE) within OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts, where she actively contributes to the Smart Recycling Factory research project. Her work centers on developing building resource passports and analyzing accounting methodologies to advance circular economy principles in the construction sector.
Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Telecommunications from the University of Applied Sciences for Telecommunication in Leipzig (2019) and a Master of Science in Business Information Systems from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Bielefeld (2024). During her master's program, she completed an exchange semester at LAB University of Applied Science in Finland and supplemented her studies with architecture and civil engineering coursework at HSBI Campus Minden.
Ms. Steinkuhl's research integrates information systems with sustainable construction practices, focusing on digital resource tracking and lifecycle assessment tools. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges civil engineering, environmental science, and data management to optimize material reuse and reduce waste in building projects. This work directly supports policy development for resource-efficient construction through empirical analysis of accounting frameworks.
Prior industry experience includes dual studies at Deutsche Telekom AG with rotations across technical departments and an international internship at Magyar Telekom in Budapest. She subsequently managed network expansion construction monitoring at Telekom Technik GmbH and led infrastructure projects in Uganda for Ingenieure ohne Grenzen e.V., handling both technical and project management responsibilities. Additional IT project experience was gained at Miele & Cie. KG and Claas KGaA mbH during her master's studies.
