Ania M. Jastreboff

Ania M. Jastreboff, MD, PhD is a Professor of Medicine (Endocrinology) at Yale School of Medicine with additional appointments in Pediatrics. She serves as Director of the Yale Obesity Research Center (Y-Weight), Co-Director of the Yale Center for Weight Management, and Medical Director of the Yale Stress Center.

Dr. Jastreboff is an internationally recognized physician-scientist specializing in obesity medicine and weight management. Her research focuses on the development and clinical application of novel anti-obesity pharmacotherapeutics, particularly nutrient-stimulated hormone (NuSH)-based therapies. She has led pivotal studies on dual- and triple-receptor hormone agonists including tirzepatide (GIP/GLP-1), retatrutide (GIP/GLP-1/Glucagon), and maridebart cafraglutide.

Her recent publications demonstrate expertise across multiple domains of obesity research, from pharmacological interventions and cardiovascular outcomes to psychological factors influencing eating behavior and health disparities in treatment access. Her work spans clinical trials, systematic reviews, and implementation science approaches to obesity treatment.
