Ani Sargsyan

Dr. Ani Sargsyan is a Researcher at the University of Hamburg's Faculty of Humanities, Asia-Africa Institute, Department of History and Culture of the Near East. Her work focuses on social history of Islamic empires, Persian letters from Anatolia, and comparative analysis of Roman-Islamic transcultural interactions.

Current research projects include:

• Social Contexts of Rebellion in the Early Islamic Period (SCORE)
• Persian Letters from the 'second Iran' (MS Marʿashī 11136)
• Algorithmic Analysis of Islamic Societies (600-1600 CE)
• InterSaME: Oral/Written Transmission in the Middle East
