Anh Chau

Anh Chau is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Construction Management at the U.A. Whitaker College of Engineering, Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama (2018 and 2016) and a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (2014). Before joining FGCU, he was a Post-Doctoral Associate in Civil and Coastal Engineering at the University of Florida.

His research focuses on quantitative methods in construction, project management, and civil engineering workforce development. Specific interests include construction cost estimation, scheduling, infrastructure resilience, and sustainable building practices. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida and holds certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP), LEED AP BD+C, and OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety and Health.

Chau is actively involved in engineering education, exploring topics like target value design, ethics, and out-of-class engagement. He contributes to professional organizations such as the American Society of Civil Engineers Construction Research Council. His work bridges academic research with practical applications, emphasizing decision support systems for infrastructure planning and cost optimization.
