Dr. Angila DeJong is an Assistant Professor of Education at Northwestern College, where she serves as the Program Director for the online B.A. in Early Childhood Education and the Master of Education (M.Ed.) programs. With extensive experience teaching students from elementary to graduate levels and a career spanning roles as a special education teacher, curriculum developer, principal, and grant evaluator, she integrates real-world insights into her pedagogy.

Dr. DeJong’s research focuses on curriculum design, teacher leadership, and faith-integrated educational practices. She emphasizes relational teaching, using personal narratives to contextualize pedagogical strategies, and preparing future educators for practical challenges. Her recent publication, "The Cake" (2022), explores thematic or metaphorical approaches to spiritual growth in teaching. She also contributes to academic discourse through conference presentations and program development.
As a full-time faculty member, Dr. DeJong teaches undergraduate and graduate courses while leading curriculum innovation.
