Dr. Angie Andrade is a Teaching Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Oklahoma State University (OSU), serving since July 2024. Previously, she held roles at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, including Associate Professor (2018–2022) and Assistant Professor (2014–2018). She earned her Ph.D. in Experimental Social Psychology from OSU (2014), with prior degrees from the same institution (M.S., 2011) and Westminster College, Utah (B.S., 2009).
Her research focuses on social inequality related to race, class, gender, and sexual orientation, with notable work on stereotypes surrounding Native Americans, gender biases, and media representations of mental health. She teaches courses such as Introductory Psychology, Psychology of Prejudice and Discrimination, and Statistical Methods in Psychology.
Dr. Andrade’s recent publications explore subgroup stereotypes among Native Americans, the impact of sports mascots on prejudice, and how gender stereotypes influence academic performance narratives. She is fluent in Spanish (Latin American) and actively supervises undergraduate research, mentors students, and designs research projects.
