Angela Turner

Angela Turner is a Lecturer and Casual Academic in the School of Music at The University of Queensland. She specializes in piano performance, chamber music, and pedagogy. Currently, she lectures at the Queensland Conservatorium and leads the Intermediate Piano Program at the Young Conservatorium. Her roles include AMEB Keyboard Examiner, Federal Keyboard Syllabus Consultant, and series editor for Hal Leonard.

• Education: Master of Music (Royal College of Music, London) and Conservatorium medallist (Queensland Conservatorium).

Her research interests focus on chamber music collaboration, piano performance techniques, and music education methodologies. She is renowned for her work with the Lyrebird Trio, winners of the 2013 Asia-Pacific Chamber Music Competition, and has performed at venues like the Melbourne Recital Centre and Sydney Opera House.

Key achievements include recordings on Melba Recordings and Master Performers, with works by Mahler, Beethoven, Smetana, and Nigel Westlake. The Lyrebird Trio’s 2016 debut recording received critical acclaim.
