Vivianne Cheng

Vivianne Cheng is a Teacher of Piano at the Keyboard Department of Mozarteum University's School of Music & Art Education (SOMA). A Steinway artist, she has performed globally at venues like Carnegie Hall and the Royal Concertgebouw. Her education includes studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Mozarteum University, and Curtis Institute of Music under mentors such as Gary Graffman and Leon Fleisher.

Her research focuses on advanced piano techniques, historical performance practices, and interdisciplinary artistic collaboration. Recent performances include solo tours across Europe/US, Mahler Festival appearances, and world premieres at Salzburg's Aspects Festival. She has recorded a new CD of Bach's 48 Preludes.

Award highlights include top prizes at Tureck Bach Competition and Greenfield Concerto Competition. Her chamber music collaborations include work with Ani Kavafian and Ida Kavafian.

Grants and fellowships span vocational support (AHK Talent Grant) to prestigious scholarships (Vladimir Horowitz Fund). Active in new music creation, she has premiered works by Bolcom, Febel, and Rorem.
