Angela Simpson

Angela Simpson is a Professor of Respiratory Medicine and Deputy Head of the Division of Infection, Immunity and Respiratory Medicine at the University of Manchester. She is also an Honorary Consultant Respiratory Physician at Wythenshawe Hospital, conducting asthma/allergy and general respiratory clinics. Her research focuses on early life risk factors for asthma/allergies, genetic epidemiology, and asthma diagnostics. She leads several high-profile studies including the MRC-funded Study Team for Early Life Asthma Research (STELAR) and the Manchester Asthma and Allergy Study. Key roles include clinical lead for the Food Standards Agency's Adult Food Allergy Study and asthma/allergy lead in the Manchester Biomedical Research Centre's respiratory theme.
