Angela Park is an Artist Lecturer in Cello at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Music. A renowned performer, she has appeared as soloist and chamber musician across North and South America, Europe, and East Asia. Notable engagements include performances with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic, and Helsinki Baroque. Her artistic versatility spans Baroque cello interpretations of Bach Suites, contemporary premieres, and chamber collaborations with luminaries like Leonidas Kavakos and Richard Goode.
Education highlights include studies at the Curtis Institute of Music (with Peter Wiley and Orlando Cole), New England Conservatory (Laurence Lesser), and Universität der Künste Berlin (Jens Peter Maintz, DAAD Scholar). She holds a Konzertexamen degree with highest distinction (2013). Her baroque cello training includes work with Kristin von der Goltz and Daniel Rosin.
Research interests focus on historical performance practices and contemporary compositions. Angela has premiered dozens of new works and serves as sought-after teacher at institutions including the Korean National Institute for the Gifted in Arts and Curtis Young Artist Summer Program. She plays a Paolo Antonio Testore cello on private loan.
Award-winning performer, she has received the Silver Medal at the International Isang Yun Competition and Seong-Yawng Park Talent Award. Additional distinctions include recognition at Stulberg and Young Tchaikovsky competitions.
