Angela Orlino Gutierrez

Angela Orlino Gutierrez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where she serves in the Division of General Internal Medicine. She transitioned to the North Texas VA Medical Center in 2022 after 16 years as a clinician-educator at Parkland Health & Hospital System.

Her educational background includes a summa cum laude bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Case Western Reserve University (Phi Beta Kappa) and an M.D. from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health (summa cum laude, Alpha Omega Alpha). She completed internal medicine/pediatrics residency at The Ohio State University Hospitals and Columbus Children's Hospital, maintaining board certification through the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Gutierrez's clinical work emphasizes cardiometabolic risk mitigation, culinary medicine, and clinical documentation improvement (CDI). Academically, she focuses on holistic mentoring of Internal Medicine trainees, having served as an Academic Colleges mentor from 2015-2022.

Her professional honors include induction into the Phi Beta Kappa Society for undergraduate academic excellence and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society for medical school distinction.

She actively mentors trainees through personal and professional development programs and maintains clinical-educator roles across major Dallas healthcare institutions.
