معرفی
Angela M. Gronenborn is a Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in the Department of Structural Biology, with secondary appointments in Bioengineering and Chemistry. She is a Hans Fischer Senior Fellow at the TUM Institute for Advanced Study.
- Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Cologne
- Former positions: National Institute of Medical Research (London), Max Planck Institute (Munich), NIH Laboratory of Chemical Physics
Her research focuses on developing and applying advanced NMR methodologies for structural and dynamic analysis of biological macromolecules, particularly in HIV research. Key contributions include restrained molecular dynamics/simulated annealing algorithms, multidimensional heteronuclear spectroscopy, and in-cell 19F NMR techniques for studying protein interactions in native environments.
Recent publications highlight her work on HIV-1 capsid structure, fluorine as a reporter nucleus, and conformational dynamics of proteins. Her methods revolutionized structural biology by enabling analysis of larger proteins and complexes in solution.
